Mending Through Mindfulness – Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT)

Description:

What is Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT)?

MBCT helps reduce stress and anxiety and prevents relapses in those who suffer from depression. It combines the practice of mindfulness meditation with the practical skills of learning to interrupt thought patterns that lead to negative spirals in mood. Mindfulness is a non-judgmental way of paying attention in the present moment and leads to increased personal awareness and clarity.

Who is this for?

This 8-week program is for anyone experiencing moderate anxiety/depression. It is also highly recommended for people with a history of depression.

Why should I attend this program?

Participants will be trained to identify the triggers and symptoms of anxiety and depression, and then effectively address them as they arise in everyday life.

RESOURCES – To save confusion, the password for the resources will be the same for each week.  However, the course is about staying with the moment, so we strongly encourage you to simply open the resources for one session at a time.  It will simply feel confusing and overwhelming if you look ahead.  Our motto can be:  “First this breath, then the next.  First this session, then the next.” Password included in the enrolment confirmation email.
